If the disease which has attacked the intellect goes on increasing, the mental disease which monitors as a consequence of organic disruptance or deterioration, will have amplified also, awaiting psychosis may be established in some one or more of its many sad and various forms.

It is, then, a very resolute thing for a man to take into his body any substance which, on getting that wonderfully delicate organ the intellect, sets up therein a ailing action; for, ailing mental action is certain to monitor. A fever is a fever, whether it be light or intensely burning; and so any disruptance of the object's rational equipoise is psychosis, whether it be in the simplest form of momentary obscurity, or in the midnight of a utterly unlit intellect.
We are not copy in the relevance of any unique notion, nor in the will of partisanship; but with an sincere need to make the certainty develop. Another consideration, which should have power with every one, is this, that no man can tell what may be the creature of the bequest he has customary from his ancestors. He may have an inheritance of covert evil powers, transmitted through many generations, which only await some favoring opportunity to spiral into life and action. So long as he maintains a rational nature-restrain, and the vigorful order of his life be not disrupted, they may resume inert; but if his intellect squanders its equipoise, or is hurt or impaired, then a ailing psychical situation may be induced and the covert evil powers be quickened into life.
